South Miami is a city in the Miami-Dade county area of Florida, and nestled directly in the Miami metropolitan area. On a smaller scale, South Miami still enjoys all the beauty, amenities and Floridian charm as the busier portions of downtown Miami. The area was originally home to nomadic Native American tribes such as the Tequesta, the Calusa and the Jaega, and it is estimated that they were in the area centuries before white pioneers eventually came.
