Palmetto Bay is a village in the Miami-Dade county area of Florida, and nestled directly in the Miami metropolitan area. It includes two neighborhoods that were formerly census-designated places (CDPs): Cutler and East Perrine. Palmetto Bay had its beginnings in the same time as the construction of the South Miami and Coconut Grove areas, being settled largely by immigrants moving down from the Northern portions of the United States. Being on the water, Palmetto Bay was a host to plentiful agricultural opportunities and expansion throughout the many decades since its founding.
