Miami Beach is a beautiful coastal resort city located in Miami-Dade County of southern Florida. It was officially incorporated as of March 26, 1915. Miami Beach, along with the neighboring South Beach, have reputations as being one of the most popular places in all of the United States of America to visit and soak up some of that Florida sun. Its beginnings trace back to 1870, when father and son pair, Henry and Charles Lum, purchased the land in the area for seventy-five cents per acre. The first building to be built on what would become Miami Beach was the Biscayne House of Refuge, which was constructed in 1876. The next few steps for Miami Beach were in the agricultural field, as denizens worked to plant a coconut grove along the beach area. Going through multiple investors, realtors and people throwing all they could into the project, Miami Beach grew from an agricultural hub into a sprawling city, planned out as a coastal resort to draw in tourism, and with quite a bit of success. Now, the area is a beautiful testament to all the work put into it, and then some.
Miami Beach gets the typical Florida experience with high heats and high humidity stretching throughout the year. Very rarely does the temperature drop beneath fifty degrees Fahrenheit. The most humid months tend to be June through August, and the precipitation is noticeable. Miami Beach can also experience heavy rainfall and occasional thunderstorms, which rarely leads to flooding from the nearby bodies of water.
Miami Beach is a phenomenal place to get out and experience some of Florida’s natural beauty, whether it is in the world famous South Beach, one of the many resorts or just the plentiful amount of outdoor activities you can do. Miami Beach is never boring
