Coral Gables, home to the University of Miami, is a beautiful and thriving city in Miami-Dade County, and is located southwest of downtown Miami. Given its beauty and natural flow, it is not surprising that Coral Gables was one of the first planned communities and prefigured the development of the gated community and the homeowners association alike, meaning strict rules are and were enforced to keep Coral Gables beautiful. Originally, the city was developed by a gentleman named George Merrick during the Florida land boom in the 1920s. His design incorporated a Mediterranean Revival Style, and it still shows within the gorgeous homes and architecture of Coral Gables. By 1926, the city spanned ten thousand acres and had over one hundred and fifty million in sales. The effort and time put into the city shows in every corner, and it is an absolutely gorgeous place to both reside in and visit.
Coral Gables gets the typical Florida experience with high heats and high humidity stretching throughout the year. Very rarely does the temperature drop beneath fifty degrees Fahrenheit.
